| NScaleCalico roughly depicts a mid 80's industrial town, located near Barstow California. The old western Ghost Town shown in these photos are a small part of the upper portion, alluding to the real ghost town of Calico, also near Barstow. The real Barstow has one of the largest rail yards in America, and is home to the famed Tehachapi Loop. My layout is in N Scale, approximately 3 x 5.5 ft, has a double track, overlapping loop with a 3% grade leading to the front edge of the Ghost Town. Industries represented include oil, coal and freight, with the far end of an Intermodal yard, and a small passenger platform in the center of town. |
